Certificate Clinicals

The program requires a minimum of 630 supervised direct-care hours, and the School of Nursing guarantees clinical placements. Students complete one clinical day per week for the first six months, then two days per week for the remainder.

Certificate Admissions

The certificate requires an existing master’s in nursing and an active California RN license.

Touro MSN alumni follow a streamlined pathway that waives letters and transcripts.

Applications are rolling, with decisions within two weeks. Students who transfer the three APRN core courses start in summer (April 15 deadline); those who need to take them start in spring (December 15 deadline).

Tuition

FNP tuition is charged by the credit. The 2026–27 rate is $1,110 per credit; the current catalog lists $1,070, for a published total of $32,100 on the full 30-credit plan. Transfer credit lowers that total — to about $23K for students who bring in the three APRN core courses (21 credits) or roughly $21K for Touro MSN graduates (19 credits).

A clinical training fee of $775 per term applies, plus a $90 technology fee per trimester and a $360 annual student fee.

Tuition is the same regardless of residency, though Touro enrolls only US citizens and permanent residents, and the FNP per-credit rate runs higher than the general MSN rate ($920).

Accreditation

Touro University California’s master’s and post-graduate APRN certificate programs in nursing — including the FNP certificate — are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), with the post-graduate APRN certificate holding a 10-year CCNE accreditation.

The university is regionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Graduates qualify to sit for national FNP certification through the AANP and ANCC and to apply for California BRN nurse practitioner certification and a furnishing number.
